Architectural design

As the designers of the Belső Udvar Office, we endeavour to apply the principles of environmentally conscious and healthy building design as extensively as possible. We design the houses in harmony with the built and natural environment. We also try to abstain from unnecesarry formal aspects. Through the selection of building materials we try to use products that are environmentally friendly. We do not represent a danger for the workers or for future dwellers. The building machinery used represents the “gentle technologies”. Their selection we consider the complete lifecycle of the equipment as well as the benefit to the users. Because of physiological and ecologic advantages we prefer the usage of multi-layer adobe structures.

Our prices vary according to the plan’s type (permission or construction plan), complexity and scale. All price follow the regulations set down by the Chamber of Hungarian Architects and always individually calculated. We gladly give a 10% discount to ecologically conscious projects.

Energy Audit, Building Certification, Dynamic Building Simulation

One of the basic elements of environmentally conscious construction is to minimize the heat demand of buildings and to optimize the comfort of the occupants. The orientation and location of the building, the building structures and accessories used, the mechanical equipment, the use and, of course, the external climatic conditions determine the environmental load of each building and the interior climate comfort of the users. Energy audit services

During an energy audit we examine the consumption of a given building with the consumption habits of a given consumer. First, the actual consumption of the building is determined by accounts and measurements. In the second step, we estimate the theoretical energy consumption based on building structures and mechanical systems. After analyzing actual and expected energy consumption, we propose to reduce consumption to varying degrees and cost effectively.

Energy certification services

During the building energy certification the consumption of a given building is exemined with the consumpion habit of an consumer specified in the 7/2006. (V. 24.) TNM decree. This means that we calculate the consumption of buildings by assuming average consumption patterns. After determining the energy consumption of a building, we calculate with which energy class the building belongs.

Dynamic energy simulation services

We use dynamic building simulation software to calculate the energy requirements of very low energy buildings and to forecast summer heat conditions. With these software, you can even predict the expected room temperature broken down by hours. Software assistance can thus be used to correct a potentially faulty, poor comfort concept during design. Due to the expected impact of climate change, it is increasingly worthwhile to carry out such studies when designing a new building!

Solar radiation investigation services

Solar radiation investigation may also be needed when analyzing the environmental impact of a new building, but also when analyzing the environmental impact of a new building. When designing a new building, consideration must be given to the environment and the building’s self-sufficiency in order to clarify the amount of sunlight and sunlight that can be expected in the premises. However, when designing a new building, there may be a statutory obligation regarding the extent to which the construction of the new building will affect the expected exposure of adjacent existing buildings. In both cases, our office is at your disposal using different software.

The prices of consultancy vary according to the scale and character of the project, from 4 500 – 8 500 HUF/hour, or 30 000 – 70 000 HUF/day. (VAT is not included)

Research on Building Sciences

The building sector has been experiencing significant changeds in the recent years, and and this trend will likely to continue in both Hungary and in the wider world. Problems like shortage of dwellings (in number and in quality) for the population of the World; the harm that building industry and the common use of houses cause to the natural environment; global climate change have to be seriously considered by architecture in the near future. This endeavour has to be accompanied with other important disciplines, in order to find the proper architectural/social/technical answers. For us, in the Belső Udvar Office, with the practical experiences of construction, participation in national and international research projects are very important. In line with the expertise and experience of our staff, the office mainly participates and initiates research projects in sustainable building, building ecology and building biology.

Architectural-, and Investment advice; Life-cycle cost assessment, (LCC)

We, the staff of the Belső Udvar Office, with the creation and maintenance of the Database of Ecofriendly Building and the fenntarthato.hu (=sustainable) website have been collecting significant expertise on ecologic building on the theoretical as well as the practical field. We give expert advice on energy conscious renovation, possible usage of renewable resources, rain water collection, physiological effect of building materials and alternative waste water treatment, from the scale of a family house up to townships. Our firm undertakes the preparation of the calculations and feasibility studies of the proposed investments.

The prices of expert advices vary according to the scale and character of the project, from 10 000 – 15 000 HUF/hour, or 60 000 – 100 000 HUF/day. (VAT is not included)

Our design experience and research results are shared with professionals and builders through various partner-organized or self-organized trainings.
